Horseback Riding in Aspen/Snowmass

2 HOUR RIDE

Our two-hour rides take place in East Snowmass Creek or Snowmass Creek just minutes from Snowmass Village. This gentle horseback ride is a short getaway that is fun for families, groups or a quite ride amidst your busy day. This two hour ride is a perfect way to enjoy the true Rocky Mountain wilderness; mountain peaks, lakes, wildlife,and enchanted forests that will make this trip one to remember.
LUNCH RIDES

A perfect way to spend an afternoon, after an hour horseback ride we will dismount and enjoy a gourmet lunch in a setting with spectacular high meadows and beautiful views. You can take scenic photos, enjoy a small hike, or just relax before heading home.
DINNER RIDES

Indulge in the greatest views and atmosphere of any dining experience in the Roaring Fork Valley. After an easy one-hour ride you will find yourself in a place of insurmountable beauty as you enjoy a true cowboy BBQ followed by s’mores and storytelling around the campfire. This will be a night to remember. We have other dinner options, which include grilled salmon and trout almandine. We can also create a dinner to suit your personnel tastes and desires.
Horseback Riding in Aspen/Snowmass

½ DAY SNOWMASS CREEK

This half-day ride follows the meandering Snowmass Creek towards its headwaters as you ride up into the Maroon Bells Wilderness area. The ride takes guests through beautiful forests, surrounded by high snow-capped mountains. At your leisure we will dismount and enjoy a snack, take some photos and relax in one of Colorado’s most beautiful valleys. Guests have the choice of a morning ride or an afternoon ride. A full lunch is available upon request.
½ DAY WEST SNOWMASS CREEK

This half-day ride also starts at Snowmass Creek but after a short time you will turn and head up West Snowmass
Creek. This trail ends in our base camp at the foot of Mt. Daly and Clark’s Peak. Here you will stop to have lunch, relax and take photos of this spectacular area before returning home. Guests have the choice of a morning ride or an afternoon ride.
ALL DAY SNOWMASS CREEK

This full day ride gives your group many options as to how you would like to spend your day. The ride begins as the Snowmass Creek trail head and will make your way up the magnificent Snowmass Creek Valley. Guests can choose how far they want to ride, or if they prefer, stop at the beaver ponds along the way to fish and picnic.
ALL DAY WEST SNOWMASS CREEK

This full day embarks up Snowmass Creek before heading up West Snowmass Creek. This trail climbs through majestic forests into Snake Basin and eventually ending on Haystack Mountain. From there, the view of Mt. Sopris, Mt. Daly and Clark’s Peak make the Elk Mountain range an unforgettable experience. Here your group will have lunch in an area where the views are unsurpassed. As in all of our All Day Rides, each individual group determines the time spent on the horses, as there is no particular destination that has to be reached before returning.
OVERNIGHT SNOWMASS LAKE - "The Million Star Camp"

Guests will mount up at the Snowmass Creek trailhead for this camping trip of a lifetime. We will leave in the morning giving riders time to stop for photo, enjoy a relaxing lunch, and take in all the magnificent views this area has to offer. This day you will enjoy the rushing Snowmass Creek, large valleys with snow capped peaks, miles of pristine beaver ponds, and some time at Snowmass Lake. At approximately 5pm, we will arrive at the Lost Remuda base camp, complete with every amenity to make your night stay very comfortable. Lost Remuda is the basin directly below the west side of Maroon Bells. The cowboys will take care of the horses while guests wash up and relax until dinner. After dinner guest can enjoy our “million star camp” while eating s’mores and telling stories around the campfire. The following day will start with a big breakfast to get you ready for a great day. A short ride takes you up to the renowned Snowmass Lake, the headwaters of Snowmass Creek. Day two is up to you., hiking, fishing or just relaxing is the call for the day before saddling up and riding back to civilization. You will be back at the trailhead before dinnertime. This is a once in a lifetime family opportunity.
OVERNIGHT WEST SNOWMASS CREEK

From the trailhead, you follow Snowmass Creek upstream, cross the creek and head up West Snowmass Creek. Our camp is located at the base of Clarks Peak and Mt Daly. Regarded by many as one of the most beautiful places you will ever camp. After arriving at the camp you will have an hour or two to relax, wash up, or play a game of horseshoes before your gourmet dinner is served. Then sit around the campfire eating s’mores, tell stories and enjoy the night sounds of the great outdoors. In the morning, after a cowboy breakfast, the more motivated may want to take the one and a half to two-hour hike to Moon Lake, a place of unsurpassed by beauty. Moon Lake sits in a bowl surrounded by spectacular snow capped peaks. This is a wonderful place to pull out the camera and snap photos of unforgettable scenery. We suggest that if you are interested in hiking to Moon Lake that you consider staying an additional night in the high country. If you do chose to stay two nights, you will get the full experience of Moon Lake, have the time to hike around it, fish, take photos and absorb the untouched beauty. The decent back to the trailhead will start after lunch and have you back home in time for dinner.

The Willow Creek area is limited by the Forest Service, making this trip an exclusive horseback trip into this pristine valley. Therefore, all camping takes place in sites that are not permanent, and must be taken down when we leave. Due to the technicality of these trips, we recommend a minimum of two nights. This trip embarks up the East Snowmass Creek area and eventually ends at Willow Lake, which is at the base of the famous Maroon Bells. From there we have many different options available to you depending on the length of your trip.

If you would prefer to plan out your own unique adventure, then this is the way to go. We can work with you to plan a trip that takes you to the places you want to see, lakes you want to fish, mountain passes you want to travel over, and the number of days that you would like to ride.
Private rides are available for couples and small groups. Prices are dependant on number of people and destinations.
Private fishing guides are available upon request for an additional fee. All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and beverages (juice, water & soda) can be modified to the client’s style, quality and special needs. For an additional fee of $150, we can provide a real Colorado storytelling, singing cowboy for your entertainment.
