Description

Aspen Alpine Guides is a professional guide service, that has provided quality mountain guiding adventures year-round in Aspen Colorado since 1987. AAG is fully licensed and insured and operates under a USFS Priority Permit.

Our adventures include guided summer and winter trips including hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, snow-shoeing, cross country ski instruction and tours, backcountry skiing, out of bounds lift assisted skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, hut trips on the 10th Mountain Hut System, and High Altitude Training for runners and Cyclists. We specialize in creating custom backcountry adventures for individuals and groups of all abilities and sizes.

Snowshoe and Cross Country Skiing

Backcountry tours are available in and around the Aspen area that can be tailored to all fitness levels. All trips include snowshoes, poles and daypacks.  Transportation and lunch can be arranged if needed, as well as ski rental.

Full Day Snowshoe / Cross Country Skiing: up to 6 hours

• 1-3 people: $345
• 4 or more: add $70 per person

Half Day Snowshoe / Cross Country Skiing: up to 4 hours

• 1-3 people: $265
• 4 or more: add $55 per person

2 Hour Cardio Fitness: Snowshoe / Skate Ski / Trail Run

• 1-3 people: $185
• 4 or more: add $45 per person

Backcountry Winter Huts and Camping

Experience a true outdoor adventure on snowshoes, AT or Telemark skis. Our guides can assist with trip itineraries that can be from a single overnight to multiple days out at either established huts or self-made winter camps.

Not all trips are rated at the same skill level. Conditioning and environmental conditions will have an impact on the available terrain. We provide guides, logistical support, group equipment with first aid and emergency gear. Additional equipment is also available, or rental equipment can be arranged if needed.

Private Guiding and Instruction

Includes winter camping, survival and mountaineering skills such as route finding, bivoc and shelter construction, use of ropes, crampons and ice axe on steep terrain, self rescue and self arrest.

Guided Backcountry Skiing

Aspen Alpine Guides provides guided day tours and peak ascents for backcountry skiers at AT or Telemark gear.  Beacons, probes and chovels are provided and ski equipment can be arranged for rental.

Introduction Full Day Ski Tour

The terrain available for this day has been selected because it generally provides a safe environment throughout the season.  Skiers will be able to concentrate on understanding their new experience without additional concerns for environmental conditions.

Government Trail Corridor, Richmond Ridge Corridor, Upper Hunter Creek Valley, Snowmass Creek Trails, Maroon Creek Road

Intermediate Ski Tour / Peak

Skiers must be physically fit and pervious ski experience in the backcountry is highly rocommended.

Lost Man Loop, Green Mountain, Mace Peak

• 1-2 people: $605/Day
• 3 or more: add $150 per person/day

Advanced Ski Tour / Peak

Skiers must not only be physically fit but they also must have the technical skills needed in teep winter alpine terrain.

Pearl Basin/Peak, Castle Peak, Hayden Peak, Sopris Mountain, Geissler Peak

• 1-2 people: $685/Day

Side Country Skiing

With a lift ticket we can introduce you to side coutry skiing bordering some areas of the Aspen Four Mountain resorts.

Day Hiking Trips

Trips are available for all levels into the backcountry in and around Aspen including the high alpine pass crossing from Aspen to Crested Butte. All trips include transportation, day packs and hiking poles. Lunch can be arranged if needed.

Full Day Hikes: 6-7 hours

Half Day Hikes: Up to 4 hours

2 hr. Fitness Hikes

• 1-2 people $185

Crested Butte Hikes: Full Day

* Price includes shuttle return from Crested Butte on the day of the hike. Call for more details.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climb on Independence Pass and in the Roaring Fork Valley. Beginner and intermediate classes offer instruction for basic rock skills, knots, belaying and movement on rock. All safety equipment and transportation is included and lunch can be arranged for full day courses. These classes are available daily. AAG rock climbing guides and instructors love to teach all levels for kids and adults.

Private Guiding and Instruction

Includes technical mountaineering skills such as use of ropes, ice axe and crampons, backcountry fist aid, self rescue and navigation.

Private Guiding: Full Day

• 1-2 people: $450/day

Mountain Biking

Areas include Richmond Ridge, Government Trail, Rim Trail, Upper Hunter Creek Valley and Rio Grande singletracks.

Full Day Rides: 6-7 hours

Half Day Rides: Up to 4 hours

High Altitude Training for Runners and Cyclists

Gain endurance for trail runs from 8<000' to 14,000' and cycle the many high passes in the area.
