May - October
Maroon Bells Wilderness Downhill - Novice
The tour begins with a drive to the "most photographed peaks in North
America" - The Maroon Bells and Maroon Lake. A refreshing snack will be
served along the way. At Maroon Lake, your guide will lead you on a short
orientation at the lake acquainting you with some of the local wildflowers,
trees and geology. After everyone has limbered up, you will begin your effortless
12-mile paved, downhill descent. Along the way, you are welcome to stop
and enjoy the spectacular views, and to photograph one of the most picturesque
wilderness areas in Colorado. Your trip finishes in Aspen. The Maroon Bells
road is closed to most vehicular traffic for the majority of the summer,
and affords a perfect opportunity to enjoy some downhill Colorado mountain biking.
