Aspen Mountain Summer Activities

Yoga Hikes: This popular program combines intermediate
backcountry hikes followed by an hour of open-air Hatha yoga at the

top of Aspen Mountain. Offered Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and

Saturdays. Meet at the bottom of the Silver Queen Gondola at

10:30 a.m. $52.50 includes gondola ride. Reservations required -

Climbing Wall: Test your agility on the rock-climbing wall. Open

daily, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $7/one session, $10/two sessions,

INDEPENDENCE PASS OPENS FOR THE SEASON

THURSDAY, MAY 24, 2 PM

The Colorado Department of Transportation will reopen Independence Pass on SH 82 for the season on Thursday, May 24, just in time for Memorial Day holiday travel. The 12,095-foot pass is closed each winter, due to harsh winter weather conditions, for the safety of the traveling public. Maintenance crews plan to open the pass at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, weather permitting; but motorists should be advised that any spring snowstorms could slow traffic at times.

Jazz Aspen Snowmass June Festival

Jazz Aspen Snowmass June Festival presented by Calamos Investments takes place in downtown Aspen at Rio Grande Park. Evening performances are showcased in an intimate setting under a 3,000 seat tent. In addition to the main stage acts, free concerts can be seen daily on the Cooper Street Mall along with late night JAS After Dark performances at Aspen's premiere nightclub the Belly Up. ASPEN, COLORADO - The Aspen Art Museum proudly presents the first one-person U.S. museum exhibition of German artist Nicole Wermers, beginning May 29, 2007. A free public reception with the artist will be held on Friday, June 29, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The exhibition will remain on display through Sunday, July 22, 2007, in the AAM Lower Gallery.

Stay Aspen Snowmass vacation specialist Jack Laderer qualified for the 2007 USASA Snowboarding Nationals which took place in Tahoe, CA
Jack scored an 8th place in Slopestyle and 7th place in Half-pipe.
