Delta Air Lines Responds to Demand in Aspen / Snowmass by Adding Second Flight to Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, May 4, 2006 - Due to steady demand from customers, Delta Air Lines will offer customers a second daily flight between Aspen / Snowmass and its Western hub in Salt Lake City, effective July 1, 2006. The service is part of Delta's continued growth in the Salt Lake City hub, as more flights are being added to the more than 100 non-stop destinations that will be served out of Salt Lake City this summer.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to skate with the kids at our incredible skate park in downtown Aspen. As a 51 year old the kids definately help keep me young. It's a great place for parents to watch kids from 5 years to well 50 years old to have fun together.

The forty minute hike on the ridge up to Highland's Bowl, is worth the unbeatable ski down. With steep, open terrain and the best snow, nothing beats a run in the Bowl. Now, boasting over 2,400 feet of vertical, three runs on the bowl and you can call it an amazing ski day. And with the new Deep Temerity lift, you can ski out on a short, wide catwalk and take a quick lift back up to the top and begin hiking all over again.

Downhill Racing in Aspen a Real Thrill

I'm back in the saddle in alpine ski racing after being side-lined for nearly six years after blowing my knee out in the '99 town downhill. Over the past ten days, I competed in three Super-G's races, ran a total of ten downhill training runs, and three downhill races between the Aspen Town Downhill and the Rocky Mountain Masters. Finally was able to get going really fast last weekend as I was able to hang within five seconds of last year's Master's Downhill Champion as well as former Canadian and U.S. Ski Team members on a course that was nearly a minute and a half long.

Fundraiser for Aspen Local

Come enjoy drinks, food, friends and live music at the Cantina for a night to benefit a friend. At age 24, Aspen local, Jasper Lecht, has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma and he needs your help in battling this disease. "Jam for Jasper" will be held at the Cantina on Tuesday, February 21st at 8pm. There will be a $20 minimum donation and a support auction to go towards Jasper's effort in fighting this life threatening disease. Hope to see you all there!
