Event Description

Join the 10K & 5K Run/Walk, Family Fun 1-mile & PAWS for the Cure dog walk and survivor celebration. Enjoy a silent auction, entertainment and expo fun for the entire family. Run breast cancer out of town and race across the fine line, help Komen further our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures!

The Aspen Race for the Cure® funds breast health initiatives in Pitkin, Garfield and Eagle Counties and provides grants to local non-profits.

The Race attracts men, women and children of all ages and athletic abilities. It is an emotional and exhilarating event that gives women and their families an opportunity to support the fight against breast cancer in their communities, to remember those who have lost the battle, and to celebrate those who are surviving.

About The Aspen Race for the Cure

The Aspen Race helps raise money for grants to our local service area. 25% of funds help fund the Susan G. Komen Foundations' innovative and cutting edge National Research program. 75% of funds raised stay in our local community.

Fulfilling the Promise

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Susan G. Komen is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested almost $2 billion to fulfill our promise, working to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 50 countries. Since 1991, The local Aspen Affiliate has granted over $5 million dollars to screening, treatment, education and survivor and support programs.
