Man I wish this place was slightly updated with somewhat modern decor vs the mirrored walls we had. that being said it's aspen, we were in the heart of aspen and the price was right. the rooms are clean, they work, there isn't a thing wrong with them outside of dated interiors which will make the price go up.
so if you are looking for a place to stay, are budget conscious and don't mind garbage trucks operating outside for a few moments in the morning to clean up the evening mess than this is the place for you. you won't find a more centrally located easy to reach condo with views of Aspen mtn

* Great location for the Food and Wine Festival!
* Our unit was very well maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Recommendations/Cons:
* No AC was a little tough as no breeze was blowing. The ceiling fans helped a lot though.
* Not all lamps could be plugged in because they were either too far from outlets, or the outlets were all being used. Suggest cheap power strips.
* Instructions for the cable TV DVR would be a nice addition. Great BIG TV in the LR with all the channels you need.
We will likely make the F&W Festival an annual event, and when we return, we'll only stay at The Prospector.

We enjoyed our stay at the Prospector, it was very nice. The place was clean and the staff was always courteous and helpful. We especially liked the private sauna & hot tub, which were in good working order. The mid-town location is easy walking distance to the restauraunts and shops in Aspen. It's a fairly easy walk to the gondola lift, but a bit far to walk in ski boots. We would advise wearing street shoes and renting a gear locker at the base of the lift if skiing Aspen Mountain. when staying here. One minor thing to be aware of: they advertise airport shuttle service during business hours. We arrived late in the evening and had to catch a cab to the lodge, which was fine, but on our mid-morning return trip to the airport they simply called a cab which we had to pay for. Overall, though, we can recommend the Prospector and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
