I arrived a day ahead of my reservation and the nite manager graciously found me a room. I loved my stay. Quiet, clean, an interesting international vibe, and mix of young and old made for a great time. The continental breakfast was excellent. By far the best hostel I've stayed at and I've stayed at many in Europe. Love Aspen!

We stayed for the Aspen Food & Wine Festival, and the combination of price and location were fantastic. We liked the location as it was just a little way from the hustle and bustle of the festival, but it was calm and quiet. The pool area is beautiful and great for hanging out and meeting the other guests.
Only two downsides: First, there is no air conditioning, which probably doesn't matter for most of the year, but during these few days, it did. Second, the morning manager lives on property, and on both nights, she kicked us out of the pool area around 9:45 PM because she said that the noise funnels into her room from the pool. We are four very calm and quiet adults, and as the pool area was *much* cooler than our room, that was by far the place that we desired to be. We vacated, but that's poor form, in my opinion. I'd differ were we partiers or even loud talkers. So it goes. Beyond that, we loved the St. Moritz.

This lodge is simply amazing, it completly exceeded my expectations by far. The price is top notch, the breakfast is the best I've had on budget hotels, the pool is very clean. The dorm style rooms are by far better then the ones I've stayed in hostels around the world, they seem more like staying at a friends house, like they say in one of the other comments. The dorm rooms only have 2 or 3 beds, so the room doesn't get too crowded like in most hostels. The staff is very friendly and the lodge is close to everything in town, only 2 blocks away from bus stop to all the ski resorts.
Next time I go to Aspen I'll be staying there again for sure.

St. Moritz is a cozy little lodge with a hometown feel. It felt more like staying at a friend's house than in a hotel. We were walking distance from everything and in a quiet corner. The staff were really friendly and accomodating. The pool was super clean and the steam room was very relaxing. Will definitely stay there again!!

The St Moritz is a small'charming inn, that is reminicent of the old Aspen I knew growing up.The pool area is great and it is like being at a private pool,not a hotel.The location in a neighborhood is good because you do not have street noise.The rooms and bathrooms have all been redone so you do not have the old motel feeling.A gem and I am glad I found it.
