Sitting above the Assay Hill ski run, this 3000+ sq.ft., tri-level home is one of the original chalet style homes built in Snowmass Village. Offering 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, family room w/ billiard table and outdoor spa, this home is a perfect getaway for winter or summer enjoyment.
The Entry level consists of the living room with wood burning fireplace,TV/DVD, dining room to seat 8, fully equipped kitchen and master bedroom with king bed, TV/DVD and full bath. There is also a large deck with valley views.
The Upper level has four bedrooms, each with vanity sink, and sharing two full baths. Two bedrooms each have a queen bed. The other two bedrooms have a built-in twin bunk bed.
On the Lower level is the large family room with billiard table, wood stove, comfortable seating, TV/VCR/DVD and stereo. The outdoor hot tub is located on the deck just off the family room. There is also a 1/2 bath and laundry room on this level.
Ski access onto Adams Avenue Ski Run is a walk of approximately 2/10 of a mile (1 block) from the home.

This property was ideal for the numerous people we had in our party (up to 12 at one point); the various bed setups were great for our mix of couples and singles, and the living room and the den provided floor space for sleeping as well.
The property was kept clean inside and out, and provided more than enough amenities, including board games, WiFi, a pool table, DVD/VCR/calbe, etc. etc.
The three drawbacks that we found were that this property is located high on the mountain, which means you have to travel by car to get where you need to go (you can go by foot if it's warm, but the windy road, which can be slipery, doesn't make it ideal); the fact that your parking area is separated from the house by a bridge (about 100 feet) that you have to walk by foot -- that means you have to carry everything, from luggage to any food items you've brought to prepare in the cottage's kitchen; and the open ceilings, which means sound carries from the kitchen/living room to the upstairs bedrooms.

We had 9 people during different times during the week from all over the country. Some were single and some married couples. The house was wonderful. It had charm that you just can't get at most homes in the area. It felt like you were really away from it all. We loved that it had a country feel to it and wasn't modern. Everyone loved the pool table and the hot tub. Great layout of bedrooms and bathroom. Everyone felt like they had their own space but also plenty of area to be together as a group. When we return to the area in a couple of years we hope to stay at the Country Chalet again. It was a great get-a-way.
