About Aspen Santa Fe Ballet

Founded in 1990 by long-time Aspenite Bebe Schweppe, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is an institution - home of a nationally recognized dance company, a center for dance education, and a gathering place for the finest dancers and choreographers in the world. Our home at the Colorado Mountain College/Aspen campus allows us to operate under one roof -- the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet - a company of 10 exquisite dancers, The School of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (in Aspen and Santa Fe) - serving local students of all ages, and the Aspen Santa Fe Presents – year-round performances from some of the most exciting and unique dance companies around the globe.

Location Information

All performances are held at the Aspen District Theatre unless otherwise noted, located in the Aspen Elementary School on Maroon Creek Road. From Highway 82, take the roundabout to Maroon Creek Road. Take the first left into the Aspen School District campus parking lot.

CHANGE YOUR POINTE OF VIEW
After a whirlwind tour of the United States and an 2nd appearance in Italy this spring, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet kicks off the 2008 Aspen Dance Festival on July 17. The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (ASFB) will be premiering new works by Jorma Elo, Nicolo Fonte and Itzik Galili as well as featuring ASFB's signature piece Noir Blanc by Moses Pendleton.

Ballet Boyz

Since leaving London's The Royal Ballet to form their own company, Michael Nunn and William Trevitt have established The Ballet Boyz as one of the most cheekily original and innovative forces in dance, combining multi-media elements of film and video, pop music and newly commissioned work from today's contemporary choreographers.

After last year's sold-out performance, the world-renowned Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is collaborating with the Aspen Music Festival and returning to the Tent stage with innovative repertoire and live music, this time performed by full orchestra. A blending of the best of the Aspen arts scene in one great evening.

Featuring 1st Flash, by Jorma Elo, (set to music by Jean Sibelius), and Wolfgang, an eclectic piece highlighting the music of Wolfgang Mozart, this evening at the music tent is not to be missed.
