Crown Ride

Explore the Crown with great views of Mt. Sopris, the Elk Range, and Down Valley. This ride is beautiful in the Spring for seeing snow-capped Sopris Mountain and in the Fall for seeing a spectacular palette of fall colors..

Location: Meet at the City Market Parking Lot in El Jebel
Time: Meet a half an hour before scheduled ride time
Driving Directions: At the El Jebel stoplight turn left (from Aspen) or right (from Carbondale and Glenwood Springs). At the "T" make a left onto East Valley Rd. Stay Left and continue to the City Market Grocery store parking lot. There will be a horse trailer at the far end of the parking lot. Your guide will be there to greet you. You'll then follow him/her to the trailhead.

Half Day Backcountry Tours

These rides are geared towards those that are looking for more of a backcountry experience with tremendous scenery. We'll take you into the more remote wilderness areas. Ride through aspen groves and pines forests to spectacular 360 degree views. These Colorado horseback riding tours include a leisurely lunch stop.

Buttermilk Meadows

Starts at the base of the Tiehack Lift on Buttermilk Mountain. This is a beautiful backcountry ride with great views of Pyramid Peak. Ride through the aspen groves and pine forest on the Government Trail; continue up through Buttermilk Meadows for an unbelievable view during lunch.

Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
All rides meet 45 minutes before scheduled ride time
Driving Directions: From Aspen: Hwy 82 West 1 mile, go over the Maroon Creek Bridge. Take the next right (Stage Rd), then take another immediate right to go through the under pass to the stop sign Turn right (Tiehack Rd) and follow road to Tiehack Lift Parking Lot. ( lot will be on the right)
From Down Valley: take Highway 82 towards Aspen Airport. Go past airport, Buttermilk Ski area and Inn at Aspen. Watch for sign to turn right onto Tiehack Rd. Follow Tiehack Rd to base of Tiehack lift parking lot.
(lot will be on your right).

Hunter Creek

Starts in the old mining town of Lenado and continues past Van Horn Park for lunch.
A GREAT backcountry ride with breathtaking, panoramic views of Aspen, Hunter Creek and the Maroon Bells. You can choose to take a Half Day Ride or a Full Day Ride.

Driving Directions: From Aspen / Snowmass: Take Highway 82 West to Aspen Village /Phillips 66. Turn left at Aspen Village traffic light. Your guide with horse trailer will be right at the entrance to the Fire Station. Sign in and follow him/her to the trailhead
From Glenwood: Take Highway 82 East towards Aspen. Meet at the Phillips 66 / Aspen Village. (8.3 miles from the Basalt traffic light) You'll see a Phillips 66 on your right after you come out of the canyon. Turn right at the traffic light for Aspen Village / Phillips 66. You'll see your guide with the horse trailer right near the entrance to the fire station. Sign in and follow him/ her to the trailhead.

1/2 Day Maroon Valley

Explore one of the most beautiful Mountains in North America.
Enjoy a leisurely-guided ride thru the famous Maroon Valley and the East Maroon Creek. Your horse will take you through shady aspen groves, meadows of wildflowers then past beaver ponds on Maroon Creek . Great views of Pyramid Peak and the Bells!

Driving Directions: From Aspen - Hwy 82 West, enter the roundabout and take the 2nd exit onto Maroon Creek Rd / Aspen Highlands. Go 1 mile past the school zone. Rec Center will be on you right. Look for a horse trailer and someone in a cowboy hat.
From Glenwood - Hwy 82 East towards Aspen. Pass Aspen airport. Enter roundabout and take the 1st exit onto Maroon Creek Rd / Aspen Highlands. Go 1 mile just past school zone. Rec Center will be on your right. Look for a horse trailer and someone with a cowboy hat.

Overnight Base Camp

Overnight Base Camp Trail Ride
Enjoy a remote, camping adventure by horseback into the heart of the Hunter Frying Pan Wilderness area. Plan one to seven nights in these fully equipped and comfortable camps. Cozy wall tents and hearty meals await you. Fishing and wildlife are abundant and the horseback riding is spectacular. This will be a really nice "get away" to remember! Excellent for groups and families.

Crested Butte Ride

For the more adventurous, ride across the Wilderness on the old stagecoach route between Aspen and Crested Butte. This is one beautiful trip!! Lunches included on the trail. Call for dates and details!
