A great way to experience Colorado's wilderness and leave time for all of your other activities. We can add a lunch to this ride. We have picnic tables set up for the lunches.

Half-Day Capitol Creek

Tour the spectacular Capitol Valley and enjoy all the beauty of the Maroon BellsSnowmass Wilderness. Our most popular ride, also includes a lunch stop along the way. We eat lunch in the Capitol valley with close-up views of 14,130 foot Capitol Peak.

Half-Day with Fishing

Approximately 2 hours of riding and 2 hours of fishing, with lunch. Great for families and kids, a little bit of everything for all. The fishing is outstanding; we catch 15-20 fish per trip. All catch and release.

Overnight Base Camp

Enjoy the backcountry with a traditional pack trip. Fishing, guides, cook, meals, tents, scenery, lots of memories and fun. About 1 hour ride into camp. We serve hot breakfast, sack lunch, and cook over the fire in the evening.

Aspen Wilderness Horseback Riding Tours

1, 2 & 3 Hour Trail Rides, Lunch Rides & Sunset Rides

These rides start right from our facilities located at the base of Buttermilk Ski Area, just minutes from Aspen. Jump on a horse for a scenic ride up the mountain.Rides start at 9:00 am and close at 5:00 pm. Although short in general, these rides wind along gentle trails on the mountain to offer great views as you meander through aspen groves, stands of evergreens and flower filled meadows. Great for families or groups that want to enjoy a pleasurable ride with no experience necessary. Come midday, and join us for lunch on the trail - cowboy style, or take a late afternoon / evening ride with us and watch the sun set.

Half and Full Day Wilderness Rides

These rides are geared towards those that are looking for a more back country experience with tremendous scenery and perhaps some fishing as a bonus or addition. Half days are generally four hours and full days are generally six hours. Fishing gear is extra. We frequent Maroon Valley, the Hunter Creek Wilderness area and Buttermilk Meadows on our half day rides - don't worry about packing a lunch, we'll do that for you, cowboy style.

A beautiful down valley ride, best in the Spring or Fall. Views of Mt. Sopris. Min. 2 people.
1/2 Day Buttermilk Meadows	$130.00	10:00am - 2:00pm
Starts at the base of Tiehack Lift on Buttermilk Mountain. This is a beautiful backcountry ride with great views of Pyramid Peak. Ride through aspen groves and pine forests on the Government Trail; continue up through Buttermilk Meadows for an unbelievable view during lunch. Lunch included.
1/2 Hunter Creek	$130.00	10:00am - 2:00pm
Starts in the old mining town of Lenado and continues past Van Horn park for lunch. A great backcountry ride with breathtaking panoramic views of Aspen, Snowmass, Hunter Creek and Maroon Bells. Lunch included.
All Day Hunter Creek	$155.00	9:00am - 3:30pm
Starting from Lenado, this backcountry experience continues past Van Horn Park up to the top of Bald Knob (11,000 ft.) You'll see spectacular 360 degree views including views of the Continental Divide. Exceptional photo opportunities await you.
1/2 Day Maroon Valley	$165.00	10:00am - 2:00pm
Enjoy a leisurely-guided ride through the famous Maroon Valley and East Maroon Creek. Your horse will take you through shady aspen groves, meadows of wild flowers, then past beaver ponds on Maroon Creek. Great views of Pyramid Peak and the Bells!
