In June, SkyWest also began operating flights from Delta’s Salt Lake City hub into Aspen/Snowmass as Delta Connection.

In August 2006 United Airlines announced the introduction of new winter nonstop flights from Chicago/O’Hare and San Francisco into Aspen Pitkin County Airport.

New and expanded nonstop flights from Chicago/O’hare, San Francisco and LAX now permit new international one-stop connections from London/Heathrow, Paris, Sydney, Auckland, NZ and Sao Paulo, Brazil, saving international travelers up to two hours on the total journey time to Aspen/Snowmass.

Delta Air Lines

On June 9, 2006 Delta Air Lines inaugurated new nonstop service between Aspen/Snowmass and the Western hub in Salt Lake City, and responded to strong early demand by adding a second daily flight on July 1.

Delta’s additional service to Aspen/Snowmass is operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines with quiet and comfortable CRJ700 regional jets.

On October 3, 2006, Delta announced further additions to its winter schedule with a third daily nonstop and a fourth trip on Saturdays.

US Airways Express

Formerly America West Express, year-round six-day-per-week service from Phoenix into Aspen/Snowmass continues with improved flight times to offer better connections.

Frontier Airlines

In September 2006, Frontier Airlines announced a deal to acquire ten 74-passenger Q-400 aircraft to launch low-cost regional service from their Denver hub to as many as 18 destinations throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.

The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery to Frontier in May, 2007.

Any communities not already served by Frontier Airlines within a 700-mile radius of Denver would be "fair game for the new service," including Aspen/Snowmass.
