   We know when you're planning a vacation to the mountains you want something for every member of the family - not just mom and dad. That's why we are so proud of all the on- and off-mountain activities available to kids and their parents at Aspen/Snowmass during both the summer and winter. Several national magazines place Aspen/Snowmass on their Top 10 Family Ski Resort lists because of our great ski schools and family-friendly terrain. And when the lifts close there's even more to do! However, Aspen/Snowmass is not only a great ski resort though. In the summer it is bustling with a multitude of exciting activities for the entire family. Check out these great family options:

Rodeo

Every Wednesday there is an authentic rodeo includes bull-riding, calf roping, barrel racing, bronco riding, children’s calf scramble and more. Come early for the full Western barbecue and enjoy all the great entertainment and kids’ activities, including petting zoo, pony rides, horseback photos, roping arena and mechanical bull riding.

Camp Aspen/Snowmass

Fun, dynamic environment and offers combinations of activities with daily and weekly programs available for ages 3 through teens. Activities include mountainboarding, skateboarding, paintball, camping and mountain biking. Weekend privates, indoor skate ramp, theme and nature days, horseback riding, swimming, and a variety of activity combinations make this a must-do summer adventure camp.

Aspen Mountain Activities

Ride the Silver Queen Gondola for spectacular views and once on top dine at the Sundeck and partake in the on-mountain adventure. Activities include FREE ACES Guided Nature Tours, FREE Kids' Activities, FREE Music Concerts, Climbing Wall, Bungee Trampoline, Yoga Hikes, FREE Disc Golf, and much more.

Snowmass Mountain Activities

Take a scenic route on the Burlingame lift from the Snowmass Village Mall to mid-mountain. At the top there are great views, a free disc golf course and access to many trails for hiking and biking. Bicycles may be taken on the lift at no additional charge. On the Snowmass Mall there are also a variety of activities such as FREE concerts, Climbing Wall, Bungee Trampoline and much more.

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES)

During the summer ACES offers daily programs which include naturalist-guided walks; eagles, hawks and owls demonstrations: one- and two-hour programs for children; sunset beaver walks and interpretive campground programs.

Aspen Music Festival and School

Aspen Music Festival and School wants to encourage families to expose their young ones to music in a child friendly environment by participating in the The Young Person's Guide to the Music Festival. It is composed of four different programs tailored to different aged children, activities present age-appropriate musical experiences for every member of the family.

Aspen Recreation Center

The Aspen Recreation Center also known as the ARC, is outfitted with state of the art equipment and amenities for you and your family to enjoy. They have a a climbing tower, an ice rink and two pools. One pool is a 25-yard, six lane, 4 to 12- foot deep competitive pool with a one meter diving board. The second pool is a zero to 4-foot deep recreation pool, complete with a two-story slide, lazy river and spray features to keep even the youngest child entertained.

Kids Krafts

After a great day in the mountains, kids of all ages can challenge their creative skills as well. Projects range from felt animals to beaded bracelets and bird feeders.

Storytelling & Sing-a-Long Under the Stars

Bring the whole family to the Nature Trail for a group sing-a-long as our warbling Cowboy Tom leads you in singing well-known camp songs. Snuggle up while our storyteller leads you through an hour of interactive enchanting tales. Shell tends the fire and serves up hot chocolate and s'mores.

Snowmobiling

Ride a snowmobile all the way to the lake at the base of the world famous Maroon Bells - North America's most photographed mountains. Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa at Maroon Lake then explore our miles of groomed trails through thick aspen groves and cruise over wide-open meadows. NASTAR Racing

NASTAR is the acronym for the National Standard Race and is the largest public recreational grassroots ski racing program in the world. Allow skiers of all ages and abilities to compare themselves against their friends, family members and the U.S. Ski Team regardless of when and where they race.

Guided Nature Tour

At Snowmass, take a FREE guided skiing/riding nature tour with a naturalist and get to know our high-alpine environment. Aspen Center for Environmental Studies' (ACES) naturalists lead the 45-minute skiing explorations every day.

Snowshoeing

Weave in and out of spruce-fir forest along a babbling creek and learn about the animals that inhabit the Rocky Mountains in winter. Naturalists from Aspen Center for Environmental Studies are offered daily.

Family Twilight Snowcat Dinner Ride
