Bluegrass Sundays – September 2, 2018
Take the Silver Queen Gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain for the final bluegrass concert of the summer. As part of Bluegrass Sundays
, enjoy a free performance by the Smuggler Mountain Boys from noon-3:00 PM. The Smuggler Mountain Boys play everything from Bill Monroe thru The Grateful Dead. Get lunch and drinks at the Sundeck Restaurant, then enjoy your meal outside with the live music and incredible mountain views.
Snowmass Balloon Festival – September 8-9, 2018
What’s great about the Snowmass Balloon Festival
is that all of the events are free. On Saturday, check out Snowmass Septemberfest from 4:00-7:00 PM at Snowmass Base Village. There will be wine, sake, and food tastings, as well as kids’ activities, so bring the entire family! Snowmass Septemberfest supports Bridging Bionics.
Then, don’t miss the Glow Show also in Snowmass Base Village and on Fanny Hill. The Glow Show will feature live music synchronized with the glow of the hot air balloons.
Aspen Ruggerfest – September 13-16, 2018
Autumn in Aspen is the perfect season and location for a rugby tournament like Aspen Ruggerfest
. This annual event began in 1968 and this year marks the 51st tournament. Each year, 30-40 teams travel to Aspen from all over the world, as far away as Australia, France, and all over the UK. Aspen Ruggerfest is a fun sporting event, and you can support the home team, the Gentlemen of Aspen, by wearing red and black stripes.
Aspen Filmfest – September 25-30, 2018
The Aspen Filmfest is your opportunity to see critically-acclaimed films that have been making waves on the international film festival circuit. Film screenings include feature-length documentaries and fictional films.
ACES Evening of the Elk – September 26, 2018
Witness the Rocky Mountain elk rut at North Star Nature Preserve in Aspen with local experts and guides from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES), Ryan Smalls and Will Cardamone. The non-intrusive (the goal is to watch the elk, but remain unseen and unheard) evening excursion will take place from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Concerts at Belly Up Aspen
Check out a show at Belly Up Aspen
. They have an intimate venue where everyone has the best seat or view in the house. You get to see some of the biggest names in music and entertainment perform on the Belly Up stage and you're mere feet away. Belly Up Aspen offers food, wait service, and two bars. They have reserved tables and general admission tables and plenty of standing room.
