Where to Après Ski in Aspen Snowmass
Few things go together like spring skiing and après. And few places (we’re biased and would say no other places) in the U.S. do après ski like Aspen Snowmass. From glamorous to low key and everything in between, here are a few of our local favorites by mountain.
Best Places to Après Ski in Aspen
- Located right at the base of the Silver Queen gondola, Ajax Tavern
is the place to be and be seen after a day on Aspen Mountain. On warm, spring days, it’s tough to beat the sun soaked patio for people watching, truffle fry eating (seriously, these are a must-order) and champagne drinking. Come here hungry - Ajax Tavern is also known for its gourmet cheeseburgers, wine list and craft brews.
Shlomo’s - That beat you hear on your last run down Aspen Mountain after a 4 o’clock gondola ride? That would be Shlomo’s. This season, Shlomo’s has become the go-to après ski meet up spot for the younger locals after a day full of finding stashes on Aspen Mountain. They regularly have DJs playing and champagne showers off of the outside bar. Feel like a local - go ahead and order a tallboy of Pacifico.
- With live music every day starting just as the lifts are closing, it is always a party in Chair 9
. People routinely ski other mountains to gather back here for their reserved table complete with bottle service. In the depths of winter, Chair 9 is cozy and the perfect place to warm up after a cold day on the slopes. Keep an eye out - you’ll see locals and celebrities alike!
- The Limelight Lounge
just might have the best priced happy hour specials in town. Located just a few blocks from the gondola, it’s worth the stroll to enjoy deals 7 days a week from 3-7pm. Specials include $9 Specialty Cocktails, $7 House Wine, $4 Draft Beers and $7 Brussel Sprouts - which we HIGHLY recommend.
Where to Après Ski in Snowmass
Limelight Hotel Snowmass - The new Limelight Snowmass is an incredible new addition to Snowmass Base Village and the lounge is warm, inviting and complete with a bar. Grab a beer, relax and enjoy a delicious wood fired pizza after skiing. Have kids? There’s even a kids’ play area located just off the lounge.
Lynn Britt Cabin
- We promise we won’t judge if you want to start après a little bit early. Starting President’s Day Weekend, Lynn Britt Cabin
kicks off apres at 2pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ski to Lynn Britt Cabin and enjoy music and food and drink specials.
Venga Venga - $8 margaritas and $4 beers overlooking the slopes from Snowmass Village Mall daily from 3-6pm are a surefire way to kickstart a party. Join the fun and enjoy a variety of après ski specials at this lively cantina. During spring, the patio is the perfect spot to end the day.
Go-To Après at Buttermilk
Hometeam BBQ - Ski down Buttermilk at the end of the day and get ready to dig into southern style BBQ with mountain flair. The sports fans in your group will appreciate the wraparound bar, number of big screen TVs and, of course, delicious wings. With an open layout and a casual sports bar vibe, Hometeam is perfect for bigger groups, those looking for a more casual apres scene, and families. Try the frozen Gamechangers for a tasty treat at the end of the day - we recommend the Irish Coffee version!
Don't Miss Après at Aspen Highlands
Highlands Alehouse - Other than the historical Red Onion, there may be no bar in all of Aspen Snowmass that locals have such an affinity for as Highlands Alehouse. During the heart of winter, regulars hunker down along the giant bar - their seats all but etched with their names - after a day of Bowl laps and Temerity tree lines, regaling their tales and heroics over pizza, wings and pitchers of beer. On deep powder days, the smiles are about as big as the bar is long. During the spring, the sprawling, sunny patio is packed with happy, exhausted skiers and riders. You won’t find champagne spraying here, but you will find a special kind of comradery that’s worth staying to enjoy for at least a beer after a day at Highlands.
