Hearthstone house isn't the fanciest place in town but it's comfortable, quiet, in a great location, and provides a nice room at a reasonable price (at least by Aspen standards). There's a bus stop across the
street and the Shadow Mountain lift right up the hill. Independence Square is less than a 5 minute walk away, and the Silver Queen Gondola is less than 10. The included breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese is a nice homey touch and everyone hanging out at either or both was really friendly and happy to
swap advice about places to eat and trials to be sure to hit or avoid. We'll definitely be back!

I almost hate to write this review because I don't want this hidden gem to become too well known. We have stayed at Hearthstone several times and always had a good experience. It is not just the Frank Loyd Wright style hotel but the location, the availability of bikes, the evening wine and
cheese get together with the other folks staying there, the great breakfasts that add to its charm.

Convenient location & a decent value considering Aspen's high prices. Nice hot tub & delicious breakfasts, plus happy hour with wines & cheeses. Our only complaint with our stay was that we booked a room on the 2nd floor with a view of the mountain, however, when we checked in, we were assigned to a 1st floor room with no view. We were told that we could be moved upstairs the next day, so we just made the best of it & didn't really unpack. The next day, we were told that we still couldn't move because some of their other guests keep extending their stay! I have never heard of such a thing. I would think that if another guest wanted to extend their stay, they would have to choose whatever room is available, not a room that someone else had already booked. It certainly made us feel like we were not valued guests. We were finally moved for our last night. Even though we were told that both rooms were "standard queens", the 2nd floor room (#15) not only had a view, but it was also larger than the 1st floor room (#4), as the 1st floor room didn't even have room for a chair. I feel that we should have been compensated in some way for the inconvenience & the fact that for 2 nights out of 3, we did not receive the room we had booked.

We enjoyed our stay at the hearthstone house and plan to stay again next time we are in Aspen. The employees went beyond the call of duty at every opportunity, the location was very convenient, and the breakfast was delightful.

Absolutely LOVED the Hearthstone House. Shannon was just awesome and it felt like we were coming home each night to family. The people were fun and we really enjoyed hanging out in the afternoon and at night.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Hearthstone house. The location is great for walking to restaurants in town. But it is the employees, specifically Tyler, that make this place special. Tyler is by far the best employee at Hearthstone. He gave accurate and detailed assistance on the best hikes to take and the best restaurants to eat at, as well as making an awesome breakfast every morning. In fact, my wife had requested almond milk, which they did not have, and the next morning it was there courtesy of Tyler. We will be back. Thanks Tyler!!
