The 2017/2018 winter season marks the 50th anniversary of the Snowmass Ski Area. Snowmass Tourism, together with Aspen Skiing Company and others, are creating a season-long celebration in commemoration of the anniversary. Celebrations include vintage, 1967 lift ticket pricing of $6.50 on Friday, December 15, 2017, a festive weekend of anniversary activities from December 15-17, 2017, and additional fun events throughout the season.
Requirements for $6.50 lift ticket: Must be booked with a minimum 2-nights lodging through Stay Aspen Snowmass. Snowmass 50th Anniversary price valid for skiing at Snowmass ONLY. Only valid for Friday, December 15, 2017- TICKET WILL NOT SCAN AT ASPEN MOUNTAIN, ASPEN HIGHLANDS AND BUTTERMILK MOUNTAINS. Must be purchased 7 days in advance.
Anniversary Weekend Events
Friday, December 15, 2017 marks Snowmass Ski Area’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate the day, Aspen Skiing Company is offering single-day lift ticket pricing of $6.50, the price that was charged on opening day in 1967. Tickets are valid only on December 15th and only on Snowmass. A retro party will occur at Elk Camp on Friday night and special 50th anniversary entertainment, followed by fireworks over Fanny Hill.
Saturday, December 16, marks the return of the memorable Banana Days, but with a modern twist. The day will also feature a 50th Anniversary Golden Gala at The Viceroy. A film, currently in development, celebrating 50 years of Snowmass will debut during the gala.
Sunday, December 17, boasts a day of vintage skiing and riding with a special Cabin Jump and Rail Jam and on-mountain community picnic at the Spider Sabich Picnic and Race Area.
